Residents and Relatives Tales

Margaret's Tale

"I suffered a serious accident in which I fractured my skull and lost the sight of my right eye. Unfortunately I didn’t recover as fully as I have hoped to and needed help, so my brother arranged for me to come and live at Kettlewell House. I felt it was the right thing to do and was quite happy to move in.

I enjoy living at Kettlewel House where I have a comfortable room to myself. The food is very good and I have actually put on weight. I enjoy the company of other residents and find the staff very pleasant. I take part in sing alongs, the weekly church service and monthly communion. Recently when the weather has been warm I have been outside to the patio which has made a pleasant change."

Charle's Tale

"Until recently I lived in my own home in Weybridge and had been there alone since my wife died several years ago. I accepted that I needed some help and moved into Kettlewell House a little while ago.

I am pleased to have my meals cooked for me and other domestic tasks taken care of. I enjoy the company of other people and have attended a couple of performances given by visiting entertainers when I was able to join in the singing. During my life I was involved as a mechanic in a racing car team so enjoyed completing the jigsaw puzzle of a Formula One racing car that brought back happy memories."

A Relative's Tale

"When my father needed care our family wanted him to come to Kettlewell House because we felt he would be very well looked after and his particular needs met. He has always been a keen gardener so the fact that there is a lovely garden was an important factor in our choice of care home. Recently he has been out to the patio and has enjoyed weeding and deadheading the plants in the raised bed. I am pleased to see the recent improvements to the rooms, the building and the fittings and am looking forward to seeing the final results. I am also pleased that there are more things for him and the other residents to do and join in with, if they wish to."
